TechTyra started with a simple question:
What if AI was used to build the tools people actually need, rather than asking people to change the way they work to fit someone else's software?
TechTyra is a Melbourne-based business that designs and builds custom AI tools for small businesses and individuals.
For a small business, that might mean replacing repetitive admin, manual tracking or a workflow that has outgrown spreadsheets.
For an individual, it might mean a personal tool for money, time or organisation that is simply too specific for a large software company to build.
And sometimes, it starts with a sentence as simple as:
"I wish there was a tool that could do this."
That's where TechTyra wants to start.
We don't start with a product catalogue and try to find a problem for it. We start by understanding the problem.
Tell us what you're trying to do. We'll talk it through, work out whether a custom tool makes sense, and, if it does, build it around the way you actually work.
Our process is deliberately straightforward:
Describe the problem → Talk it through → Build it.
We offer a free initial consultation, followed by a fixed hourly rate with the estimated hours agreed upfront before work begins.
We believe AI should be useful without treating people's data as an afterthought.
Where possible, we want customers to understand what happens to their information and have meaningful control over their data.
That means building with privacy and responsible use of AI in mind from the beginning.
Today, TechTyra is founder-led and focused on building custom tools.
Over time, the goal is bigger: to create practical AI products that make everyday life easier for people and give small and medium businesses access to useful technology without needing to build an entire technology team themselves.
The first products are on their way.

"Tyra" isn't a made-up technology word. It's my daughter's name.
I wanted the company I was building to have a meaning beyond technology. Something personal. Something that reminds me that technology is ultimately about people and the lives it is supposed to improve.
